FOUNDERS
Nizza Foods was started over 20 years ago in December 1995 by Johan le Roux in Cape Town. Nizza Foods rapidly expanded across South Africa with the Johannesburg branch opening in September 1997 by Johann Ras and the Durban branch opening in September 1998 by Chris Roets.
That provided Nizza Foods with a national footprint to supply major retailers like Spar, Pick n Pay, Checkers/Hyper, Fruit and Veg, Food Lover’s Market and various other customers.

MANAGEMENT

I have assumed the role of Financial Accountant at Nizza Foods on the first of January in 2016, and I bring with me a detailed understanding of the inner workings of the business, as well as 9 years of various financial experience within the Audit and Accounting scopes of trade.

I am the youngest sister that came into this family business only 4 years ago. Before I started working at Nizza Foods, I was a hairdresser and had my own salon for about a year. I think the hairdressing career did me well because now I am able to much more creative and love working with new people.

I am Yolandi, the “Queen of Hygiene”. I am the oldest of 3 sisters working at Nizza Foods since August 2013 as the Food Safety Manager. Before joining the family business, I was working as a beauty therapist. Thereafter I started as a flight attendant at British Airways (Comair) for about 7 years.

I started working at Nizza Foods on a temporary basis since the beginning of Nizza Foods in September 1997. I was only 15 years old at this stage and only worked at the factory during my school holidays. I started my journey officially at Nizza Foods on the 1st of July 2008, after 18 months working as a teacher.
OUR TEAM
Our production team consists of around 20 staff members that run a day-shift from 07:00 in the morning until 17:00. Our team has a passion for Food Safety and form part of the Nizza Family where teamwork is key.

We are audit by Merieux Nutri Science (Swift) Laboratories every 3 months on R962 and annually by Intertek on Food Safety Management Systems and we have kept our score above 90% for the past 3 years.
